Went on a night gravel ride on Wednesday night. I was towards the rear in a group of 10. The amount of dust kicked up looked like a sandstorm in the lights. I'm still coughing it up and washing it out of my eyes (despite wearing full wrap glasses).
It rained hard in the Boston area yesterday. |

I had some kind of weird post nasal minor nosebleed wednesday night after riding and being able to smell smoke.
We got a lot of rain here but it's crazy how dry stuff is, the roads are looking dry by noon, the water just disappeared! Can't ride at lunch but I bet I get out today with lights. |

I hope we don't have a drought condition in Central PA now, we got inundated the other day and now it's snowing. Also had another decent rain since this thread started. Too bad all our weather went up to NY instead of heading in a more easterly direction.

I had an 1.25" of rain in my rain gauge this morning. It should hopefully help the wild fires around here.

Been very wet thankfully the last 24+ hours. I assume enough to knock down the wildfires here in north jersey/nyc land.
It will take some to replenish our reservoirs, but hopefully we are back on track.

New Yorker coverage here: https://www.newyorker.com/news/the-l...g-fire-country
Last week, the biggest wildfire in the country was in California, but the second biggest was a fire outside Sundown, New York. So far this year, around a hundred and forty thousand acres have burned across the East—roughly double the amount at this time in 2023. |

Sundown? Home of 3 Goldens Convenience Store. Many a time stopped in there for a Coke on a long ride. Kinda place you think that you might get shot at when you’re wearing cycling clothes. Beautiful area!
