That fabulous frame deserves a nice matchy-matchy silver & black pump, full stop.

That certainly is an improvement but I think the white handle pulls too much attention. If that bike was mine, I'd be painting it black before the sun set. The eyes should not be attracted to the pump's handle.

Find some vinyl end caps (they come in various sizes to go over exposed screw ends) and put them on the pump head prongs. The original Campy blue ones have turned to dust by now.

I'm a little late to the party here, but let me just throw a pitch in for Duracoat products. A little - no, A LOT more expensive than regular paint, but worth it. Very tough stuff, and about as close to powdercoat as you will get from a spray.

When my dad passed in 2007, he left me all of his guns. Someone them I commenced to rebuilding and learning different restoration techniques. One of the things that always came out great were the Duracoat finishes. I haven't done a bike frame with Duracoat yet, but its definitely worth trying.

Maybe make the handle silver, chrome, match the front?

Last edited by merckxman; 05-17-2022 at 05:06 PM. Reason: added chrome

The obvious solution is to rattle can the frame to match the pump handle. Problem solved.

I'd paint it black. Please tell us more about that gorgeous bike! Looks like just my size too.

+1. Who's the star here, the pump or the frame?
