Wow that seems like a good deal. I just applied for a home equity loan with BOA to do some renovations to the house we are moving into. Maybe ill re-think that.

Ask Rusty about that. Cash out refis seem to be more complicated (or perhaps just more expensive, interest rate wise) than straight refis.

Today's close 2746.56
June 3, 2019 close 2744.45

The market range bound from end 2017 into middle of 2019.
The entire move higher 4q2019 was just P/E expansion on expected higher earnings this year and aggressive FED easing. If anything, a bit manipulated. . That's out the window now. If the FED had not panic'd last FALL, they would have more room now to ease short end. Goosing the market works short term, only stable capex and and improved productivity growth produce earnings for long term. For that, we need stable , predictable leadership.

Buying some more at close today. Feels good to know your risk tolerance and always have some money on the side for days like today.

So the administration is now talking about a payroll tax cut.
I believe that is a cut where the worker gets a little more each paycheck, but their tax liability remains the same, so the surprise will come a year from now when they’ll either get a smaller tax refund or maybe even have to cut a check to the IRS. Way to go POTUS

Nope. Doesn't work like that.

lol, this forum will find any excuse to blame anyone but the man in the mirror and generally without any understanding of the general issue.

Above for example. Looking pretty good here in the U.S.A.

As the saying goes, you get what you pay for :-)

(As I am getting ready to make more phone calls to deal with an insane ER bill, despite my "good" health insurance)

You mean the health insurance that you knew the deductible and out of pocket max as of enrollment a few months ago? Was this a surprise? Did you choose the correct health plan for yourself? HDPD vs PPO. There really aren't any surprises if you have health insurance. Be prepared to pay your out of pocket max, unless you think your life is worth less than that or doctors should make less money and require less schooling, etc...

I went to the ER 2 years ago and had my appendix removed 8 hours later and was in the hostpital less than 24 hours. Yep, hit that out of pocket max for the year and I would gladly pay that out of pocket max again in order for anyone I know to not feel the way I did.

Could be that his hospital was in network and the doctor out of network, luckily this didn't happen to you.

Unfortunately the current healthcare system is a landmine of surprises.

This happens more often than people think. And you have no way of knowing before hand.
