How to prevent a pinch flat is simple. Inflate with enough air pressure. When the side wall completely collapses you get a pinch flat. Solution is to use enough air to support this collapse. Hooked or hookless is irrelevant.
... except that hookless rims have lower pressure limits than hooked rims, so the pressures required to prevent pinch flats may be above the limit.
