Shimano Ultegra Pedal - Stopped Clicking In <= "Rivet" on Interior of Pedal??

My Ultegra pedal stopped clicking in mid-ride today. I noticed a small "rivet" on the interior side of the pedal body (circled in diagram below) is now sticking out about 4mm.

Anyone encountered this? Is there a way to "re-seat" the "rivet" so it's not protruding? I'm calling it a "rivet" because there is no slot or spot in its top to insert a tool (e.g., a 2.5mm hex).

Appreciate any constructive advice/help!
