Happy Vibes - Forum Dogs

The other thread about dogs made a little bit sad. Sad for Angry. Sad for the good Pits who get a bad rep. Sad for the bad Pits who've been neglected by irresponsible owners.

So, on a cheerier note. Let's see your dogs. I'll go first

Buzz was rescued from somewhere in Georgia as a one month old stray puppy. By the time he was 4 months old he'd been moved up to New York, adopted and subsequently given back. We were his second (and last!) family He's a good boy most of the time, but as a half beagle/half chihuahua with a dominant beagle half, he likes to let you know when there's something he doesn't approve of by barking. And he has quite the bark. When we lived in New York he used to howl when Ambulances went by like an actual wolf. It was very cute. He's calmed down now and is a total sun worshiper most of the time. He's incredibly fast but can't be off leash unless in a gated dog park or at the dog beach. His ridiculously acute sense of smell tends to lead him astray, otherwise.

Ernie had a much tougher life as far as we're aware. We fostered him back when COVID started from an LA City shelter and (of course) ended up keeping him. We were told he was 2-3 years old. He was a real street dog. Emaciated, ticks all over his ears, cuts, scrapes, bloodied and terrified of humans. He opened up in a couple of months as Buzz really taught him how to be a dog. He is the best behaved dog I've ever met and is just a bundle of love. I am totally and utterly besotted by him. Buzz too. But Ernie is just such a sweet guy. All he wants is affection and I have it in droves

Lilly is a Mountain Cur purchased 10 years ago for my son as a squirrel dog. Doesn't hunt anything but will chase deer.
Layla is our 2nd Rhodie and will run until you drop. She is 5. They love mountain biking it's the only exercise where they are truly fulfilled. That is my new Banshee Phantom V3 purchased when they offered stupid money to work extra in Feb/March. Great bike. And everything is new except for the fork which I had Cane Creek rebuild after a couple years of riding. 12 sp Rules. I'm slow. The dogs are fast. Especially the Ridgeback.

Good idea, @jkbrwn.
This is Beatrix (mostly just Bea), our second Bouvier.
She has her own ideas about how to sit on a couch.

Lexi, our 2 year old Golden is a superb lap dog and a great XC ski companion.
She thinks it's too hot out once it gets above 50F. That is, unless we are at the lake.
I really hope I get to come back as a Golden Retriever in my next life.

Good thread. Even though we had a tough week, Everyone here loves dogs and always will. Our terriers have always brought us smiles, laughs and comedy.

Here's Mileva (named after einstein's first wife), we call her Millie!

So many good boys and girls!

I find it so wonderful that we all have these animals living with us who bring us so much joy.

Also, can confirm that @CGolvin's Bea is as big as she looks.

Japanese Chins - "Kelsie" & "Lalique", my wife and I adopted "the girls" when we were living in a condo...total weight for 2 dogs was 10 lbs. They've been gone for 15 yrs or so.....still miss them....and still finding their hair in my clothes.

"Maggie" - adopted her about 6 years ago...she had just arrived at shelter after being picked up in L.A.....shipped north to WA cuz L.A. has too many strays to place with homes. She is a poodle/terrier mix (shed-free)....we think schnauzer. Just about the sweetest dog ever...unless you are a rabbit or squirrel. We have a rodent-free yard. We have a standing appointment every Saturday afternoon for nap together on the couch.....
