Pinstriping on Your Bike?
Anyone done pinstriping on their bike, either by a professional or DIY? My all black bike needs a bit of color and I am thinking that pinstriping might be one way to all add a dash of color without compromise the aesthetics of the bike. If I do pinstriping, I will probably have a professional do it because I have no artistic talent. But, I am curious of anyone has had pinstriping added to their bike as an aesthetic augmentation? Any pointers to images of bike pinstriping would also be appreciated.

The Motorola MX Leaders sometimes had a thin red stripe down the top tube, like this one: https://forums.thepaceline.net/showthread.php?t=230598
I think I've seen a black MX Leader with a gold side pinstripe, but I'm failing at finding it right now. This Weigel-ized Raleigh is killer: https://www.flickr.com/photos/875585...57659231705781 This 1910 Columbia has some great box-work pinstriping: https://thecabe.com/forum/threads/19...del-012.99541/ |

My Zanconato sinhje doeed CX bike has pinstripes around the lugs.
I loved it when I had it done. Kind of over it now. I think if you could find someone who was good at freehand “hot rod” style pinstripes who could do something more “flowy” it would be cool. Probably pretty pricey. BK

If you just wanted a simple line, you can get pinstripe tape in various widths--the stuff I worked with was not super thin vinyl, but relatively easy to apply.
(I used it for a cabinetry project in place of painting the bottom of miles of accent groves...) Pinstriping--or 'lining' lugs--you need a good touch and the right brushes IME |

Peter Weigle has some really cool bikes where he did some handsome pinstriping.
