Here's my primary ride. Had the pleasure of talking to Dario in preparation for an Italy trip, but he was too far from my destination to work out a trip to see him. He was very welcoming and always regretted not making it up to him.

yes, true. cancer + smoking , well . . . .

smoking is an addiction. it is very very hard to break that addiction. My FIL passed way too early because he was unable to stop.

there is a lesson in that. but we in the usa know already since the surgeon general has warned us for decades.

regional and cultural.

My sister went to Rome a few years back. She said EVERYBODY in Italy smoked, it seemed. Young and old, everywhere you looked.

Trust me I know, major Heart Attack in 2006. I had my bladder removed due to cancer in 2017 all from smoking. I'm fortunate to be alive at this point.
