Help choosing my next CX bike
Hello all - I managed to crack the frame of my Norco Threshold this past week. My lack of skills finally caught up to me.
I'm looking for Force/GRX 600 stuff. No Di2. 11 speed only as I'm trying to standardize wheelsets across a few bikes. 12mm thru axle (suppose this is now standard, though my Norco has 15mm front). Long story short, I'm shopping for a new CX bike and currently looking at: Canyon Inflite CF SL 5 (GRX 600/812 RD) $2,700 Giant TCX Advanced Pro 1 (All GRX 810) $2,800 Giant TCX Advanced Pro 2 (GRX 400 brake calipers/600/812) $2,200 |

I vote Giant all the way. The top tube on that Canyon hurts my eyes!

I get it, but it does scream CX! I mean, you can cosplay Mathieu van der Poel. |

I’m also voting Giant. MVP might look good on that thing but it’s ugly AF IMO. Giant AVP1 for the win!

It's hard to beat Giant for value and they have a robust dealer network and, I've heard, fantastic customer service.. Canyon has no dealer network and have heard mixed reviews on their customer service..
plus the Giants just look better IMHO

FWIW, I found a very lightly used Trek Crockett frameset for $450 and bought a new GRX 812 groupset off eBay for $700. I more or less have the finishing bits, but that will be another $250 or so. It’s been fun and a little frustrating to build up.

Cannondale super six evo cx is on sale right now. Comes with 1x gen 1 force11.
I'm canada they're $3k out the door. Significant discount in the US s well, I would bet. |

That Canyon looks wild. I kind of love it. I would get that one based on the unique look and paint alone.

Canyon would be my pick based on looks alone.
Giant 1 would be the more sensible choice for dealer support. |

That's a hell of a deal! Would be at the top of my short list if I were in the market.

I'd look for the best deal you can find on either a Specialized Crux or Cannondale Supersix CX and get that.
By far my 2 favorite straight CX bikes, and are excellent for fast gravel if you don't need the extra mounts for bags, fenders, etc. |

Thanks for the continued advice/thoughts, but I brought this thread back because I ended up getting this setup.

Sweet!! Congrats on the new-to-you build. Alloy frames are king in CX, IMO.
Racing Cat 5 in OVCX? I'm still getting my single speed together for Harbin this weekend. |

I think you will love the Crockett. I am riding a Boone this year and I think it's a fantastic cross bike. So far in practice, I am loving the low speed handling.
