Super Record S

I think now I'm getting a little confused with the Campag line-up. Have we discussed this here?

So now there is

Super Record WRL
Super Record EPS
Super Record S
Super Record (mech)(disc and rim)
Record (disc and rim)
Chorus (disc and rim)
Centaur (rim)

I thought this was an interesting real-world vid of SR S

Kinda - in a weird way. I wish they would just use the EKAR thumb shifter for everything.

Just a rumor or hearsay....it was inferred to me that it was designed as an OEM group for complete bikes.

Groupset inflation

There was a time when Super Record was not a complete group unto itself, but was a name applied to a few select high spec. components. When Super Record became a complete group, it was a singular pinnacle, above all the other Campagnolo groups. Somehow now the majority of Campagnolo groups are called Super Record.

Maybe this is like Lake Wobegon, where every single child is above average.

I've been on Campagnolo almost exclusively since 1988. Never really cared for Super Record. To me, it's a bit like the gold plated Colnagos: a bit too much. Always been a Chorus guy, absolutely stopping at Record if I wanted to splurge.

I've been on Campagnolo almost exclusively since 1992. Never really cared for Chorus. To me, it's a bit like 105/Ultegra: a bit too pedestrian. Always been a Record guy, moved to Super Record when it became the top offering.

Like I said...gold plated Colnago.

All of those I'd need to pay 1/2 cash and 1/2 credit card so my wife wouldn't kill me when she saw the credit card statement.

Same here...Chorus always has seemed top to me and been riding campagnolo I guess since mid 80's...seemed a lil tougher to me but that is prolly just in my head...the record stuff I would pick up used (always,) seemed fine...but was always a chorus fan...chorus 9 shifters were incredible, still are actually and have them on 3 of the bikes and just going strong...the whole chorus 9 group set really...no idea to be honest beyond 9 as that has always been the sweet spot...
