Zwift Bike?
Has anyone here bought the newish Zwift bike, that sets up on one of the Wahoo Kickr smart trainers? I'm vaguely tempted, since it will vastly simplify the winter set up, making it easy (I think) for my wife and I to train on the smart trainer without the hassle of shifting between her 11 speed and my 12 speed bikes.
Does the shifting feel relatively realistic (i.e. similar to shifting with an actual bike on the trainer)? Is it fairly comfortable? |

You can get one of the trainers with virtual shifting and avoid messing around with the derailleurs.

Yeah. I hate Zwift as a company, but if you are using the app as your only indoor riding program, the Click Cog (I think that’s the name) makes a lot of sense. Only works with Zwift, keep in mind.

It also works with trainerroad or any other app using erg mode. I feel like other apps are going to figure out how they are doing it. I thought about making something like it myself before it came out.

The shifting is not like using a freewheel. It’s a lot of hunting for the gear you are needing.

Eite is coming out with a competitor to the Zwift bike, that is supposed to be way better (and likely pricier)
Though I am not sure if it's available yet. Here are the details https://www.elite-it.com/en/products...ssories/square |

Why is that? One push up or down should be similar to a sprocket shift, unless it depends on how long you keep the button down.

Elite unit is not available till some time next year. I have used a Kickr bike for 4 years. The best money I have ever spent. Always ready to use no chain and any gearing you would ever want to use. Not stuck in someone else’s version of “virtual “
Gearing. |

Agreed. I rarely use mine —it rarely rains where I live— but when I do I am so happy to not be riding a bike on a trainer, with all the faff and maintanence that requires, especially when Baroness Blubba wants to use it while watching Murder She Wrote. Size adjustments are the tool free work of one minute.
