I've got their Ti stem on my Allied, it's a great part.
5dev is a division of 5th axis, who was an early adopter of 5 axis CNC machining and started a work holding company called 5th axis. They still do a lot of contract manufacturing for aerospace. In a lot of ways they're the same as Thomson and Industry 9. They are extremely capable of making awesome parts. |

Yep. They seem incredible (company and products).
I ordered a set yesterday... just curious if anyone is riding the gravel/road varieties. . |

I have both the gravel and trail on my bikes and really like them! The trail cranks/Ti ring are a go to for us when building custom MTB.

Since I have the weight weenie bug, even at $175 for a Brand New 5DEV crankset at TPC, I still could not purchase it. But for those who do not care about the weight, GO FOT IT!

The trail crank is a beautiful object but all those voids on a part that gets serious abuse on a trail bike gives me pause. I know people run them on downhill bikes and get away with it but I suspect those people are lighter than me.
I would have no hesitation on a road or gravel bike though. |

I just wonder how easy it will be keep them clean.

Any feedback with the 5Dev Titanium cranks?
New build incoming and I was originally set on Cane Creek eeWings, but I like 5Dev's 8-bolt compatibility and the ability to swap out the spindle depending on configuration (1x, 2x, MTB) |

I have them on my gravel bike. The quality is excellent. They are wicked light and stiff. I chose them over CC’s because of the configuration flexibility and they look better IMO.

Sweet - got any pics of your setup?
Their CS has been more than helpful so I’ll be going with 5Dev too |

I have no idea how to post pics on this antiqued system.

I think equating Thomson's stem issues to 5Dev is a misinterpretation of the comparison that is being made by FriarQuade.

I'm not equating Thomson to 5Dev, just pointing out that comparing a stem manufacturer to Thomson is hardly a compliment.
