US Gravel National Champ on Ti Bike w/RH Tires

I don't think I've seen this discussed yet, but the US Gravel National champ is Brennan Wertz who rode a Mosaic AllRoad bike on RH tires.. not sure what says about US Gravel Nationals (nothing to me, but it might for some), but it does say something for non-carbon bikes and Jan got his first big title as a sponsor (at least first as far as I know)..

it's all about the motor. The rest is advertising spin.
Gravel racing, I just can't take that idea seriously.
ICU should have stayed well away from it. It didn't need an overlord.

Brennan is an absolute beast. Pretty sure the frame material and the tires had nothing to do with it.

Perhaps if Brennan rode a carbon frame, he would have had a larger lead?

I just gotta LOL.. I could have almost predicted all of these replies.. and I'm sure they'll be more..

I have no idea what he would have done on a Crux, etc.. but the fact remains that he won on a non-carbon bike and RH endurance casing 44mm tires.. and regardless if the tires helped or not, you will have to finish the race (and probably not get ANY flats) to win.. but I knew some folks would downplay the tires since they are Jan products..

Congrats to Brennan and congrats to Mosaic and Rene Herse tires!

Indeed. Did Ted never win a big race on RH tires?

Ted King won "Unbound" twice on them. That's probably a bigger win than US Nationals.

huge race for sure, but it doesn't come with a jersey that you get to wear at world's.. guess it depends what you are looking for? but, thanks for pointing out that Ted won on RH tires as well..

BTW- I think some folk's heads would explode if someone won a jersey or Unbound on a Rivendell (esp a hillibike) with RH tires.. not that I think that would happen, but if it's just all about the motor..

Congrats to Brennan and congrats to Mosaic and Rene Herse tires!
He also flatted and completely blew his race at Unbound, also on Rene Herse tires (and a metal bike), so I’d say it’s definitely Brennan the beast.

It's a cool bike. I wouldn't mind one like that, but at MSRP, it was probably the most expensive bike in the field.

Actually the logic works the other way around - that he won has everything to do with the tires not flatting.

Agree that the tenor of the comments on these threads is much more "its the motor not the equipment" when RH is involved. He won on RH. That is a fact. There is no way that is not a positive reflection on RH tires, on several levels.
