Pidcock: discuss
So Pidders, who said he was in the best shape of the season, was left off ("deselected" ***) the Ineos team for Il Lombardia on Saturday. Rumors have swirled since, including that Ineos fired him (untrue, at least for now).
Even Geraint Thomas was puzzled. I know that the soigneurs and much of the support staff do not like Pidcock. Don't know about Sir Jim. Frankly, a move to Q36.5 would seem to be a giant backward step.

Something's going on, that's for sure. A nice little bit of drama to start the off-season. There's gotta be more to this story.

I have had no use for Pidcock since watching him on Netflix Unchained. Very selfish rider.

I'm not defending TP per se but Unchained was edited to play up and / or create drama to make better TV. Don't take what you see there as Truth

Many of the folks that knew him as a youth in Yorkshire remember him as a spoiled brat. He seems to have grown into a difficult adult.
Sometimes a coach/director just has to sit down his star. However the mystery surrounding this is strange. It definitely makes you think that a move is in the works and mid-contract negotiations are keeping the team from talking. But, I've been wrong before. |

I know nothing but I do know that when someone is REALLY good at something they often get a lot of leeway WRT personal behavior. So if there’s really a personality issue it must rub a lot of people really wrong because he is a truly talented rider. So to be sidelined like that is not a small matter.

He might be nicer than Iserbyt.

If a move to another team and release of his contract is being entertained by Ineos, benching him seems counter-intuitive, given his contract has a couple years left. I'd think they'd want him performing at his highest level, which he purportedly is, so that the incoming bids would be higher.

Tom seems a bit selfish and not willing to work for the strongest rider in the team. He thinks he's the strongest for Ineos at a grand tour but he is delusional because Carlos is a better grand tour rider. If Tom wants to be top dog in the team then he needs to get his butt to work and become better than Carlos in the 3 week races.

I think he’s fun to watch.
Netflix, like any other reality show, is a skewed to give the viewer heros and villains. |

Heroes and villains are fun ! Being a pro rider maybe not so much.
