Canyon - the handlebar gimmicks company
First the hover bar, then the KIS steering damper, and now…. This.

Their animation seems to be missing something.

More complexity for less functionality. Awesome.

I usually like to change my handlebar width two or three times a ride, so this is a great idea. I wonder what the resale value is for the hoover barred Grails?

Cabling? Hydro lines?
I can't count how many times I'm on a long road ride and think "if only I could swap these silly straight drops for some angled ones." Oh, actually I can. Zero. And now that I know it's possible... Still zero. Is this their mid year April Fools joke?

This is the updated handlebar, not the version that was recalled a few years ago: https://www.cyclingnews.com/news/can...lebar-failure/

I'm holding out for wireless E-brakes to eliminate the hoses.

Honestly this makes more sense than just about anyone else's one piece handlebar and stem on a stock bike. This offers the ability to have a stock frame, and have some ability to choose your preferred width and bar shape.
And if you actually read any reviews of those who have tried it, they say it works pretty well. Has the added bonus of making shipping of a internal cable routed set up easier. And I know that 98% of Paceline users don't want integrated this, that or the other. But this make sense for the bikes they are making. The 98% honestly weren't going to buy a Canyon anyway, so nothing really to complain about. |

FWIW the thing where the whole bike uses a single type of bolt and the tool is kept on the thru axle sounds lovely to me. No more multitools.

The 'old man yells at cloud' energy in this thread is too damn high. Flared drops are pretty damn comfortable, let people enjoy stuff.
