DA rim brake clearance - 9100 better?
Is there any difference in tire clearance between Dura Ace models, starting with, say, the 7900 version up to the last 9100 model? My frame is not the limiting factor, the brake caliper is.

Not sure about the Shimano, but the newer SRAM Force calipers have great room.

9100s are rated larger than 7900. Best clearance I think may actually be 5700 (105 ten speed). Where exactly are you limited today?

7900 calipers- there is part of a large return spring that sits a little low in the rear caliper that rubs against the tire (32mm).

On my Ritchey Logic I was able to smoosh some 33mm measured tires into the 7900 brakes with pretty decent clearance. The 9100 brakes, due to the double pivot, did not have as much clearance. The spring still gets a wee bit close to the tire in this photo, but I did a little reconfiguring to adjust the spring out the way.
