When I lived in Colorado as a kid, a much better cyclist than myself told me, "Boulder is the only place on the planet where cyclists actually think the rest of the world sees them as they see themselves." Not just in Boulder, we've all done an excellent job at fooling ourselves into thinking the whole world thinks we're cool.
