Most famous bicycle?

What is the most famous bicycle? Not the most famous brand (like Colnago or Pinarello or ...), but the most famous individual bike. I'm guessing it's the bike that Eddy Merckx used to set the hour record in Mexico City. I gave it a lot of thought today (I'm retired), and for the life of me I can't think of any other bike.

Most famous to whom? Eddy's bike is fairly plain. If you showed it to me without context, I might not have any idea what it was. On the other hand, these bikes are both historically significant, and very distinct:

But only cycling fans will recognize any of these bikes, so I don't know if that counts as "famous". To be truly famous you'd need wider recognition. If you asked the average person on the street, they'd probably sooner recognize these bikes:

Assuming an interest in cycling, you got it right. You see that bike, you know what it is.

The only other which comes close is L7s tour winning bike with one STI and one conventional brake lever, I would suggest.

We’re going to have to distinguish between “famous” and “influential.”

Don't know about best known, not a metric that I particularly care about but if we are talking about bikes of note in general, this is one of them.

Obree's "washing machine" homemade bike that he used to attempt the hour record.

Armstrong’s Trek Madone. So much fame and infamy wrapped up in that bike.
