Dura Ace 7403 STI brake lever hoods question
Has anyone had any luck finding replacement hoods for the 7403 STI levers?
I searched the internet and cannot find any. Or anyone have a new set to sell? Scott |

I was looking for the same about a year ago and found a seller on ebay with some NOS sets. They were outrageously expensive, but all that I could find. I just checked and he must have sold through all of his stock.
I would assume that these are pretty much unobtanium now. Here's the seller I bought mine from. He was reasonably responsive and might still have a line on some: https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_dkr...eppelin&_oac=1 |

What was the condition of the rubber like when you got them?
I've bought some 6500 and 7700 hoods and found that even in the packaging, the rubber seemed to be a bit tackier than expected which would indicate to me that it was starting to deteriorate despite being NOS. |

Your best bet may be to buy some non-functional levers with good hoods.
Sometimes see them up on eBay as singles- left or right. |

I would post a message on Google Groups classic-rendezvous-lightweight-vintage-bicycles https://groups.google.com/g/classic-...ntage-bicycles looking for someone that makes re-creations or replicas.
Or try the Classics and Vintage forum on Bike Forums https://www.bikeforums.net/classic-vintage/ and see if you can find someone to part with their stash.

The set I got was still in original packaging and the rubber was as-new.
