Looking for opinions on and experience with with BTLOS

I'm thinking about some BTLOS rims for some new wheels. Does anyone have thoughts or experience with the company and their products? Thanks.

there's a guy about a half hour north of you who has built a wheel or two that speaks highly of them.

That guy up north (oldpotatoe) built me a set with Aivee hubs (I wanted orange for the bike and didn't want to spend on CK hubs) with BTLOS rims. Came out great as a nice all-rounder set and under $1K - it would be hard to get that high quality for that price, especially picking your own components and build (spokes, nipples, etc.).

Yes. Only great experiences with BTLOS. I have built BTLOS based wheels using various hubsets, various rims, both rim and disc brake. AND since I couldn't source DT240 hubs, even bought a complete wheelset, had them delivered to me, checked them, and sent them on. They were made VERY well.

So, excellent product, great customer service(Amy), huge number of rim and hub options, quick ship(3 weeks) and great prices as well. Highly recommended.

what is the deal with the rim "quality" as in standard, premium extralight or whatever the three options are... which do you go for typically?

Couple of questions as well for mtb wheels:
--symmetric vs asymmetric?
--premium vs standard
--coating free?

Here are the wheels on my Mosaic. I went with ghosted decals and silver spokes (to avoid too much black, plus silver is good with titanium). Pretty easy to set up tubeless.

Explained here..Altho 'some' marketeer speak..Premium is the best choice IMHO..for not a huge amount of $.

I was poking around their website for fun, and their Campy compatible hub says it is for 11s.....is that compatible with 10s cassettes?
Thanks...

Any freehub that will take Campagnolo 11spd cassettes will also take 10spd (and 12spd) cassettes.

Just found out BTLOS stands for “Beyond The Limits Of Self”. Ugh, not sure I could live with such a brand name on my bike. Good thing they offer them sans decals. Maybe, Beyond The LOSS Of Self, more Zen like.

I've been curious about a 700c disc set for 35-40mm tires with medium depth rims and even though I roll my own have been eyeing the BTLOS wheelsets lately. I configured a set and just now asked via the chat if I could spec a set but make the rear 28h and front 24h. I received a prompt response that this used to be fine, but supply issues with DT Swiss dictate they can currently only offer matched pairs.

Not sure if I should go with 24h or 28h. Weight is definitely a consideration and I realize the difference is very minimal, but I spent years riding overbuilt wheels. The theoretical aero improvement is also a reason for ordering.

I think I'll go with the Premium WGX40 rims, DT350 straight pull hubs, Pillar spokes, and brass nips. I've used Pillars on several wheelsets now and I like them.
