Best way to ride from Saratoga Springs to Washington County?

Looking to try and ride in Washington County (Battenkill area) from Saratoga Springs.

I seem to recall that one of the bridges over the river in Schuylerville is steel (and therefore one I would like to avoid).

Any recommendations on routes?

Rte 29

I would avoid route 29, a lot of traffic going 55/60mph.

Out of town our standard route to Schuylerville is out Lake ave /29 to Old Schuylerville, cross 29 onto Stafford bridge and then left onto Burgoyne rd. Take that into Schuylerville and then you can either go left onto rt 4 up to Hudson crossing park (They have a nice pedestrian bridge ) or go across the bridge on 29 and then right onto river rd. Once you get across the river both ways have really nice roads depending on where you are going.
