NBD: Trek Boone **updated with new CX tires**

Nothing better than New Bike Day. Its a 2023 Boone with a bunch of parts I sourced from PL, Pinkbike, BTD and some manufacturers.
Specs:
56cm Boone F/F
Sram Red 1X crank with Quarq PM (great deal on PB)
Sram Force Shifters and Brakes (PL mellowandre)
Sram Rival AXS XPLR RD and 10-44 cassette (PB)
BBInfinite T47 ceramic BB
Extralite stem (6/100) (Above Category)
Bars are Thompson KFC from old CX bike
Xpedo TI pedals in Blue
Wheels: Maple carbon, DT350, 38mm Vittoria Mix from old CX bike. Enve, DT240, Challenge Limus tubs from old CX bike
Saddle is Trek carbon rails currently on sale
Zipp CX bar tape.

9/2/23 - Replaced the Vittoria Mix 38mm with the new Challenge Grifo TRL in 38mm. Installation was "challenging" and my hands may be sore for a few days. But once on they seated quickly. 17.6#

First light was a Project One paint scheme in 2021 I think. Its actually opposite of this with the red at the bottom fading to blue at the top.

My other color choice was black and I've owned too many black bikes

It was really a lot of fun. I started buying parts this past winter, scouring the web for deals. For example I had no intention of getting the Red PM crankset (msrp $1200 or so) but a brand new one popped up on Pinkbike for nearly 50% off which made it only slightly more expensive than the Force equivalent.

I could have saved a ton more money with the same frame being on PB for $1800 last I checked. But my wife said I crash too often and needed a frame with a warranty

Looks great and glad you were able to find a new ride with a threaded bottom bracket and quality parts all around. Enjoy!

Updated with new Challenge CX Tires

Replaced the Vittoria Mix 38mm with the new Challenge Grifo TLR 38mm. Installation was "challenging" and my hands may be sore for a day or two but once on they seated quickly with my air compressor/Park Inflator. 17.6#

Racing tomorrow in Holyoke, MA.

Fresh sneakers for race day... have a good race.

BTW, I have a Raceshop 2020 Boone R8070 Hydro. It is Grey, and I'd have Preferred a non monochromatic color to be sure. But had trouble finding a deal on one when I pulled the trigger on the frameset. I am too chicken to race however.

LOL! This is why my wife and I share many decisions. I give her cool ideas and she gives back well-considered plans.

LOL. I'm 63 and race Masters 60+. I probably end up on the ground in almost every race but usually when its slow technical stuff, so just some scrapes and bruises. Mountain bike racing on the other hand has been much more tougher on the body and my wife always gives me the evil eye when I tell her its a MTB race

I'd really like to try, but won't. I did motocross for almost 10 years, so slow technical spots probably not where I'd spill. Probably be storming big ring coming into a turn too fast and crashing in more spectacular fashion. Not gonna happen before I get this slight hernia taken care of. Probably a good way to make it way more symptomatic quickly though..
