OT - Honda Fit Door Locks
My son has an earlier Fit. It does not have a key FOB for auto locking. It is supposed to lock/unlock all the doors by turning the driver's side lock twice. This has failed. That would be OK, but when you start the car it, it arbitrarily locks all the doors. Recently, my son got out of the running car to grab something and when he closed his door, it locked him out with the engine running. Fortunately, a spare set was handy so crisis was averted.
Now that warm weather is close I am planning on removing the driver's door panel and poking around. Anyone have this problem on their car? Any known fixes/parts needs or should I just disable the whole thing? |

I’m not the most mechanically inclined but have fixed most every electronic on that gen of Honda’s over the past 15 years that I’ve owned 4 of them. It really can’t be too tough.

Did he let the battery go flat and have to jump it at some point? Maybe the car went back to default program if so...
Google the programming method for that year car. It is silliness like turn key on and off with drivers door open then close etc. |

If you can’t fix the issue, you can get a magnetic spare key holder and hide that under the car
