a warm kit can win races (spoiler)
Fleche Wallone had an abysmal weather day (snow, rain, 5°C, only 44 finishers).
One of the warmest dressed riders actually won, Stephen Williams. Distanced everyone on the iconic Mur de Huy in spite of all that clothing. Yes, that's a thermal cap under his helmet. Makes me feel a little better about my leg and arm warmers usually worn until the ambient temperature is 65°F or so. (Magnificent photo by Cor Vos)

You are absolutely right.
It was funny, I was watching it live and the commentators kept on mentioning that he is still wearing his jacket and when will he take it off.. as other riders were all taking their jackets off the last 10-15k or so. Also he's got full leg warmers on not just knee warmers. Also notice the Lotto rider has one glove on. In any case it was a great win. |

Was a great win, some awful conditions, two good wins for the Brits in this and Amstel gold!

IPT racking up UCI points to avoid relegation like last year.

It was certainly refreshing to have an open race without one of the superstars trouncing everyone (or Valverde sitting in and sprinting). I had no idea who would win until the final seconds.

Actually they are relegated, they need to rack up points (which as you point out they are doing) to get back to the World Tour.
