I'd like to meet him even though I get the impression he has little interest in the bikes the company produced decades ago - and it's highly unlikely he's selling anything now that I'd be interested in given current pricing. I've purchased a lot of stuff from Piermont. Don't know if the shop dates back to when I lived in NJ but it seems like the kind of shop I'd enjoy now.

This was also in email, so he still has an interest in the old Serotta bikes:
"Plus, Bring your Serotta, for a free T or Head thing! (limited availability & sizes!). Will have markers on hand if you’d like your older bikes signed." I have a BBQ that if it gets rained out I can go, would like to meet Ben. |

I met Ben at a shop in Grand Rapids years ago. Super nice guy and took time to speak to everyone there. Even surprised a buyer with their frameset that night they had purchased. Very approachable and answered all kinds of questions. If you get a chance to go to this event I'd do it.

If you're going, remember that Ben likes wine.

I had a great conversation with him at the hand-made bike show several years ago. Incredibly smart and engaging guy. I really enjoyed the discussion.
