Question: New Columbus tubes...

Would someone in the know please elaborate on the virtues of the new tubes exhibited at the show by Mr. Pegoretti? I understand the new tubes are called Pego-Richie. An exhaustive explanation would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I'm sure ATMO can expand on the virtues of the tubes, but my understanding
is that they are designed for lugs. Specifically, what that means is that
special attention is paid to the outside diameter of the tubing. In these days
of tig welding, the manufaturers have gotten a little fast and loose with the
numbers. For lugged builders, brazing with a consistant size gap between the
tube and lug is paramount. Otherwise, I believe the alloy of steel used is the
same special blend used in the Spirit tubeset.
