Current WTB Laser V equivalent?
So after much trial & error a few years ago, my wife finally found a saddle that agreed with her -the WTB Laser V. Fast forward to today, and the one on her Serotta is getting pretty worn. So, I go to order a replacement, and maybe a backup, but much to my chagrin these don't appear to be in the lineup anymore. I've got an eBay watch going, but so far being patient with that looks to be my best bet, as other potential NOS sources seem scarce.
Assuming that doesn't work out, is one of their current models effectively an equivalent to the Laser V? The Pure & the Speed look like they could be close, but hard to tell from the pics, and I haven't been able to measure her current saddle yet. Kicking myself for not stockpiling a few of these long ago. . . |

Never ridden the laser v. I really enjoy the pure v though!
Oh yeah. Wtb is a common test saddle at your lbs. I must have run a yellow saddle for most of a season while finding the pure v. Last edited by dustyrider; 04-13-2017 at 09:18 PM. |

I bought two WTB Pure V saddles from these guys. Solid deals.

I may have what you want. Let's check that the name on mine match the name you want. I like these saddles too and may have bought extras.

The Speed has more padding than the Pure.
I have the 145mm Pro Pure on my mountain bike. The models with the DNA padding are firmer than those with their Standard Padding. At 130lbs., I prefer the softer padding. I think the Speed has more padding than the Pure, and as the hierarchy goes up toward the sleeker racing models, the shells and the padding take on a slimmer profile. I I don't think you could go wrong with either model.
