What’s not cool? Her being terminated, or her posing semi-nude and posting “saucy” photos to Instagram? I can understand that some sponsors might take issue. I also note that this is the NY Post which is not the most credible source of news, so who knows how accurate the story is. The more troubling part is the allegations of harassment while she was on the Health Mate team. But those allegations don’t appear to have anything to do with the revocation of her job offer. I have no doubt that women in and working around professional cycling can be subject to sexual harassment.

As far as the nudity goes, who gives a ****. I have several issues of ESPNs “The Body.” None of the athletes have any clothes. Is that pornographic? |

playboy isnt porn. you could maybe call it erotic photography, but theres nothing overtly sexual about it or nude photography in general
seems kinda ridiculous |

Why are the pictures needed?

Not arguing the relative merits (or nonexistence of) of the case or story, but to say that there's nothing sexual about nude photography? That seems a bit of a stretch.

So in a sport where I stare directly at someone's annus - who are wearing bibs that hug so tight I can tell if they have had a circumcision - that sport is concerned about someone posing in playboy.
Got it. |

We are living in strange and contradictory times.

Why no calls to run these people out of the sport?
Clearly a double standard. |

different cultures and sub cultures have different levels of modesty and sexualize things ... many islamic cultures sexualize the female form in ALL forms - simply wearing "regular" clothes, let alone no clothes, is sexualized. in the west as a whole, the human form is much less sexualized. and its a dangerous thing, i think, to attach sexuality to states of dress. this is where we get notions like "she was asking for it" when a woman is sexually harassed or assaulted while wearing whatever the perpetrator claims is provocative clothing - whether thats totally covered up and showing only face, ankles, or a miniskirt, or a bikini, or nothing at all. ill also point out that wearing clothes is unnatural and pretty much unique to our species. nay, friend... nudity is not sexual, unless its presented in a sexual way or the viewer sexualizes it |
