Short Pull flat bar brake lever recommendations

Building up a flat bar project using my Juin mechanical disc brakes. Flat bar gear is new territory for me so looking for a lower to mid range recommendation for short pull brake levers. The Paul’s are nice but too pricey for this project. Thanks!

My favorite is the Diacompe MX-2 (after a ton of looking both new and vintage used... nothing but the "best" for my vintage mountain bike). Mainly, the length and shape are perfect, in my opinion. It's a 2 finger length, but I set it up for one-finger braking. It can be set up to do either short or long pull.

I am a huge fan of the Tektro FL750 and FL540 levers. They look good and feel nice.

Sorry didn't read the part about those being too pricey. They're expensive for a reason
