OT: 13 yo in Seattle... where to go? suggestions
School break...
Taking my son to Seattle for a couple of days. Going to the Museum of Flight. Been there already, but we really liked it, so he wants to go there again. Good! That's 1/2 day Any other place(s) you would suggest? Thank you in advance. |

Experience Music Project if you like that kind of thing, IIRC the comic museum is next door to it, if you like Seattle music, some great exhibits.

Thank you Herb
Yes, that Museum of POP culture is on the radar as well. Probably Space Needle too |

If you like history, the Seattle underground tour is interesting. There is a "paranormal" version of the tour on Friday/Saturday nights if you are into murder lore and ghost stories.
For more "commercial" experiences: - Funko toy factory tour in Everett - REI flagship store and its indoor climbing feature - Din Tai Fung for excellent Chinese soup dumplings / food Others: - Cherry blossoms trees should be peaking in late March - Fremont troll and Lenin statue - Gasworks park - Rent some bike shares and ride the Burke Gilman trail |

I'll second a ferry ride. Go to Bainbridge Island for lunch and they have some nice bike shops as well.

Space Needle and Chihuly Gardens Glass Museum, same complex.
If not the artsy type, ship Chihuly.. But there is a web page to whistle wet/get feeler... Gum wall to me is utterly disgusting, but I am 65 with a maturity level of 28... 13 year old might things it's cool And near the fish throwing market Pike Place. Who doesn't go 'Cool' watching guy throwing fish 20 feet and getting caught [again]. Not little fish either...

Space Needle via the monorail (get on at Nordstrom), UW campus/Husky Stadium…easy access via the Light Rail, definitely Pike Place Market to see a fish toss and the people, round trip ferry to Bainbridge as some have mentioned, the Aquarium which is near the ferry terminal and Market. REI’s flagship store might be cool for a 13yo if he’s into the outdoors. Downtown is a lot different post-covid, so just pay attention to your surroundings, especially near the Westlake station, Belltown and Pioneer Square.
