I stopped after the intro because I agree. After getting used to and thoroughly enjoying the advantages of higher volume tubeless tires and disc wheels and brakes there is no going back for me.

If you have gravel available. We have little around us.

I just put some 35mm Panaracer Gravel King SS tires on my gravel bike. It's not like riding my Peg on smooth roads but boy is it nice on some rough pavement.

I appreciate the frustration of the author: rough roads and narrow tires can make for an unhappy experience. But I still love the feeling of my 25s gliding along on smooth pavement, diving into corners, and that weightless feeling when blasting over a rise.
The simple solution (as we all know) is 2+ bikes! |

Another stupid clickbait article.
Please dont just post a link with zero commentary, so I need to click it to see what it's about. And nope, beach cruiser tire gravel bikes will never, ever take the place of a proper road bike for my riding.

I'm taking two bikes to Wyoming this summer: my road bike with 32s and my gravel bike with 40s. Both are disc brakes, one SRAM and the other Shimano. Sometimes, I will have to ride 4-5 miles of pavement to get to gravel, usually a canal road, but I enjoy the ride of 40s with 40 psi. The 32s get 55-60 psi.

Well, when new “road bikes” fit 32 plus tires I think no matter what you chose you still can get nice cushy gravel tires on it which is the most important thing anyways.

One of the more amusing aspects of this forum is the take on these new-fangled “gravel bikes.” I really wonder if that whole thing has legs.

As a long time member of this community, I can tell we have a very diverse group of people here. It would be a mistake to draw any conclusion or make any assumption based on the opinions of a few who are very vocal and posted more often. Behind the scenes, there is still a greater population of lurkers, observers and outliers.

Yep. It's all reclaimed aggregate run through a decommissioned granulated populator before the final 4-D printing process.
The future is. |

This is one of the main reasons why I ride my gravel bike everywhere and hardly use my road bike anymore.
And also the main reason I drive an SUV over an old fashioned sedan as well (well the road conditions and the flooding!). |

I guess I imagined all those great rides over the last week or so on my many road bikes sporting 700 x 23/25 tires.
