Do you dry your car with a cordless blower?

The thing with it all is going through the car wash takes 5 minutes and looks about 95% as good other than they suck at cleaning your rims.

Then I saved two hours I get to go for a bike ride.

This is one of the best parts of a hitch bike rack vs roof racks. 5 minutes to take it off, then you can go to the car wash, then 5 minutes to put the bike rack back on.

The interior of the car is the real problem. Mountain bike rides that require the car and most especially snowboarding trips just trash the interior. I do really appreciate it when I have the time to deep clean the inside of the car.

In a related matter, I've concluded that unless you really want to see water bead on your hood when it rains, there's no reason to wax it.

Not once did I wax my '97 Integra or my Impreza and I drove both for a very, very long time, and neither suffered any negative consequences. I don't plan on waxing my '24 Integra either. Occasional passes through a "spray not brushes" car wash (maybe once every 2 months, more often in winter) followed by at least 10-15 minutes on the highway (typically more) and I'm done.

IMO it takes way too long for no significant benefit. YMMV

On the daily driver i use the car wash most of the time, mostly for the interior cleaning. It takes about as long to take off the rack, car seat, and other detrius - drive over there and back and reset the car. But they do a really nice job getting all the goldfish, dog hair and bike mud out.

My mileage will vary. The significant benefit for me is I enjoy the process just like I like to clean my bicycles. It make me happy. It must be inherited. My father was the same. He cleaned other peoples cars when they came to visit from out of town.

I used to hand wash my car and wax with carnuba every 6 months or so. For the last 10 years, or so, I just drive through the car wash about once every two weeks and select the version with wax, undercarriage spray and wheel/tire spray. Then I use the vacuum hose for the interior. The car comes out fine.

They suck up moisture fast. Don't be afraid to use a bunch. Wash in the machine after. So much better than terry or chamois.

What he said, make sure they're edgeless.

I like the Griots garage stuff, its all very nice and so far seems to be holding up better than cheaper stuff.

Also, while the pressure washer and foam cannon is out, its really easy to knock out 1 or 2 bicycles for cleaning too.

I use a smaller version of one of those blowers for drying my bike, and it's awesome.

I just ride mine @ 50 mph - dries off quite nicely that way...
