....................because it leaves me no excuse to lust after other bikes. I've even got rid of 6 of them recently. Then I got my Legend, and haven't yet figured out if it's better than the CSI, but hoping. Maybe next an Ottrott? $27k???? Yep, I've got the money. Lessee, how many CSI or older Serottas can I buy? |

Its an interesting dynamic-if you were to have read what folks said about Ottrott pricing back when it was introduced you'd see some of the same complaints.
Buying new "luxury" bikes is similar to buying new Mercedes/Lexus etc. The price will plummet in a few years if you have the patience to wait. |

I feel like its a 'test of foolishness' - Serotta sees other manufacturers with a recent, outstanding and long history (ie., Firefly) and says, "if they can do it, so can I".
The fact is that, while I really like Serottas and have owned two ti ones myself, they have had a long and storied AND BUMPY history, some of which includes this test 15 years ago when they manufactured the Meivici and put a staggering pricetag on it, and lo and behold, people bought them. That said, they were $12k years ago and $27k now - seems like a disproportional jump. Anyhoo, they look like great bikes, but the price hints to me of the algorithm of Amazon where they suggest a price for a paper plate as $15, just because someone, somewhere might actually pay that price, thus validating their reasoning. |

Ben was building and designing bikes since before I was born. The bikes they are making are premium and well designed by one of the best to ever do it. The man is a brilliant bike designer. He may not be the best at financially running the business end, but he isn't with this venture. Jim Bethel who is handling the business end. The bikes are welded by Andy Keech, tubing is cut by Frank the welder in Bellows Falls VT and paint is by Jordon Low of Hot Tubes notoriety. That is an all-star crew to be involved in the venture. While Jaime and Tyler are also brilliant bike designer/manufacturers they do not have more collective experience than that crew. Sent from my Pixel 6a using Tapatalk |
