Yes, for me the limiting factor was brake bridge clearance in the front.

Does anyone have a copy of the stock geometry from the ~2005 era?

The key fact is that you are not riding that bike, haven't for 10 years. Best if you understood why. If it was being too busy with kids, work, etc then there is a chance you'll ride it in future, and why not keep it. But if it's really concern about road safety - that's hardly going to improve. If it's self-image, loss of fitness, not feeling like a racer - that too is hard to reverse. Then looking at other ways to ride a bike may be a better strategy, eg randonneuring, gravel. The Ottrott will not be the best for that.

I just went through a similar situation--and am OK with the tinge of seller's remorse I am feeling at the moment. In 2020 I finally went through the changes to need get a fit right on my lemond 853, and put some good miles on it since then. Over the past three years, I considered and rejected selling. I threw it up on CL again on Monday, along with other stuff, at what I considered the high end of the range for one in excellent condition. By Tuesday I was about to take it down again and go for a ride when the buyer's email came through. He picked up last night. Now I need a new bike!

I don't think I have a bike that I'm super attached to. In my basement, if it's not getting ridden, it's moved along. Room for the next one!

Karma / deposit in the good will bank of the universe?
If $ isn’t part of the equation - you could make a major deposit in the universal good will bank and put it out to see if it’s a grail-type of find for somebody else. Knowing it went to somebody who would really love and enjoy might change your calculus. I’ve done it, and also been a beneficiary of someone else’s decision to do it. It’s one of the coolest parts of this forum. Lots of folks stay in touch with buyers / sellers and stuff ALWAYS seems to come back the right way for the good guys.
