The knobbies rolled through mud and sand without any issues. They felt planted even at the higher pressure I was running them at. They roll surprisingly well on pavement, but not quite as smooth as the file tread.

The file tread on the same terrain would slip a little more when in mud or soft rutted sand. They rolled better on the road than the steilicoom, but the steilicoom aren’t awful.
