If you don't have the 4-Motion and you have a 2017 Golf wagon, you don't have the DSG, you have a conventional torque converter automatic.

However, what you say about fast shifting with the DSG is certainly true -- provided you have not sent confusing and conflicting signals to the transmission so that it preselected the wrong gear. If it's got the 2nd transmission set to the correct gear, all it has to do is switch over to it, and that happens blazingly fast.
