Sorry to hear it. I have recently been through the same - a sudden/unexpected loss. 8yo english staffie, my wife noticed she was a bit lethargic and thought a visit to the vet was in order... some blood tests ensued and later on discovered she was riddled with cancer... six hours later she had to be put down. We thought we had many more years ahead.

I couldn't believe the level of grief I went through, it was a very sad time for our family. You (or at least I didn't) don't realise how big a part of your life that a simple dog can become.

Take care of yourself, the sadness doesn't go away but time does heal.
