I tend to buy into the LeMond philosophy of slacker seat angles, wider handlebars, long cranks (I'm 6'4" and run 180mm cranks and 46cm bars), and "stage racing" geometry that's more stable than bikes designed for criteriums... but that's an old 1980's dichotomy that isn't a prevalent today anyway. It's pretty neutral handling to me, in my size, and I mean that in a good way.

I'd go with either 5800 in black or 7700 in polished silver, but that's a personal choice.

Enjoy it! In my opinion, it's at least 95% of the way to any modern bike.

Thanks for the info! I'm considering either going Campy Athena or Veloce (to go with my 2 other Campy bikes), or trying something new with the well regarded 5800 groupset.
