Besides installing a fork mount cable guide, I have now also changed brake pads from stock Avid shorty 4s to Kool Stop thin-line Salmon(orange) pads. I have then toed in. I now have no shudder and no squealing. The braking is also significantly improved, both the grab of the pads and the feel of braking, modulation, in my hands. Well worth the $35, approx., cost.
