I use Kool Stops and think they're great. I like the black pads better than Salmon as they last longer and squeal less. I've had worse luck with Kool Stops on V brakes and cantis though because of pad squeal.

Kool Stops don't pick up bits of aluminum from the rim and thus don't wear the rims as much as other pads do.
