Dave is going to disagree, but KOPS is always a good starting spot.

If adjustment X doesn't work, you can always go back to KOPS and start over. Starting from a 'hover your hands over the bars' doesn't give you a discrete starting spot.

I know from personal experience that if I'm not fit, my bikes don't fit the same as when I am. Ditto with weight gain/loss.

IME fitting is more art than science, so YRMV
