i'll say that most of the name brand ones have been fine. there were some growing pains years back with warping and thudding but i think they've been more or less worked out.
fwiw, most of my disc experience has been on mtb, so unsure how they compare on longer road descents. my only road disc bike hase freezas and they're fine.
