Did Steve give any specific aero reason for this or was it a comfort thing for your overall position? Does it bug your hands at all?

Keep up this great start to your season,

Bruce,

Steve Hed "rolled" my shoulders by placing lifters underneath the forearm rests. This decreases frontal area significantly. It also means you need to roll the bars inwards to compensate.

The position itself is comfortable for having my head as low as my hips and my fore arms slammed together. I did a lot of riding up canyons in the bars to get comfortable in the position. Handling the bike can be tricky but it just takes a lot of practice. Key is to stay in the aero bars as much as possible. On the flats, around sweeping corners, up the climbs. That 40K I did last week I only go out of the bars on a couple fast/tight corners.... so by my count 3 times over the course of the effort.
