I ride etap 1x11 and I’ve never dropped a chain. Before that I rode 1x11 Force mechanical for 2 years with zero issues. I don’t even understand how you drop a chain on 1X on the descent. With that said, why even chance it? Was Degenkolb trying to prove something by riding 1X? Did SRAM write him a fat check for product testing 1x12 during a monument? He’s going to catch a bunch of “I told you so” from the peloton and he deserves it.
