The beauty of not having a braze-on is that one day, when I've lost my marbles, I'll decide to experiment with a 1x setup. All I have to do is remove the FD and clamp and it looks natural.
I'm thinking maybe just a layer of black electrical tape inside a 26.8mm generic clamp should provide ample paint protection. Just gotta be careful not to clamp it too tight on the Spirit tubing.
