As the OP, I was on the computer when I asked what you were listening to, however I do listen while riding as well. Many of my rides are solo, so it helps with boredom. I use a bone conduction headphone,
Trekz Titanium, which doesn't block external sound, unless it's playing really loud. They really do work well for most all sports activities I'm involved in and I can hear approaching snowboarders, traffic, and conversation. An added bonus is I can accept and initiate voice calls hands free.
