The dept I work for has a mix of Tahoes, Explorers, 3/4 ton Chevy and Ford 4x4 trucks, Chevy van's and Chevy cars. The Tahoe and Explorer are on patrol on average 16+ hr's a day. Some of them have been problem vehicles since day 1 but the majority have been very solid for our road deputies. I can say that the new Fords with the police package is surprisingly fast.
GM being GM my thought is that even if there are issues there are so many that there are generally a good number of shops that can service them easily. Good luck with your purchase.
