I gave up on cycling gloves long ago. They all pretty much suck and cost too much. I just use Gil sailing gloves. Take your pick here:

They are built for much more demanding use than cycling, and when they get all stanky with sweat and snot you can just throw them in the washing machine. Full fingered, open forefinger and thumb, or all open. Take yer pick. They all are burlier than cycling gloves, though if you get the cheapest ones, they are a close approximation. Some are quite warm too, if you need that.
If your Assos pals look askance at you, tell them they are yachting gloves.
One really hot days, I just use my white Defeet Duragloves, looking like a Japanese cabdriver.
