Sometimes if you hear something loose in the rim it is a small piece of aluminum from when they were drilled. I had this happen with a Mavic once. The solution was that I dripped a tiny bit of superglue inside the wheel from the valve hole, turned the wheel so the noisemaker fell into the spot of glue, and let it sit for a bit. I never heard from it again.
