No disagreement there about what Klinsmann did for the technical side of things.

But lest we forget, Klinsmann also had some serious f*** ups. For instance, he started that game against El Tri with a back three, when the team really wasn't comfortable with it, and thereby necessitating a switch to a 4-4-2 barely 30 minutes into the game (which is quite the repudiation of the original tactic).

I also won't argue against the hypothesis that this team would do better under a competent coach, but performance is multi-faceted, and it's a lot harder to f*** it up with such a talented group than it is with a group primarily composed of players who are past it.
